Dr. Shalini Advani
School Director, Pathways School, India
Shalini Advani is founding Director of Pathways School Noida, one of India’s most highly ranked IB schools. Previously she has been Principal of the British School, New Delhi and Director Education of Learn Today. She has advised on the setup of new schools and conducted multiple teacher trainings. She has been a presenter at the Salzburg Global Seminar, the IB Asia Pacific Conference 2015, the IC3 Conference on Career Counselling and the EdTech Review 2016. Her publications include “Growing Up in the Nuclear Shadow,” “Educating the National Imagination” and the essay “Childhood Sexuality: History, Memory, Mythology.
Director, International Undergraduate Enrolment, Queen’s University, Canada
Christopher Coupland is Director of International Enrolment at Queen's University, Canada and has over 15 years’ experience working in post-secondary education. Upon graduating from McMaster University, Mr. Coupland began his career working in university administration first at McMaster University and then moving to Queen’s University, where he took on roles in student mobility, financial aid, donor relations and undergraduate enrolment. In all of these activities he is committed to the values of Canadian post-secondary education and supporting students as they work toward realizing their personal educational goals.
India & Sri Lanka Advisor, Education in Ireland, India
Wendy currently holds the position of India and Sri Lanka Advisor with Education in Ireland. Her key responsibility is to build awareness among students in India about Ireland as a study destination for higher education. She is also involved in developing and sustaining strategic relationship between Ireland and India. She has over 24 years of total experience being in various verticals from recruitment to training, marketing to business development. Her previous assignment was with the Australian Trade Commission where she spent 10 years with them promoting Australian Education. She has also handled their social media strategy, brand management and content development. She holds a Post-Graduation Diploma in Business Management from Xavier Institute of Management and has completed her Bachelor’s in Arts from Mumbai University. She is a Google certified digital marketer. When not working, she likes cooking, dancing and running.
Director and College Counselor, Hawkins Global Education, U.K.
David Hawkins is an experienced college and university guidance counsellor with expertise in a wide range of international university admissions systems. A graduate of the University of Oxford and a former GCSE, IGCSE, A Level and IB History teacher, David has served as a college and career counsellor at the International School of Brussels and at Taunton School in the U.K. Now based in the southwest of England and working with Syzygy Global Education, David provides independent counselling services to students and families around the world. He currently serves on the CIS Forum Planning Committee and formerly on the Government Relations Committee of the International Association for College Admissions Counselling.

Ishrat Jahan is based in New Delhi providing professional leadership, training and expertise in educational advising issues to the EducationUSA network of advising centers and U.S. Embassies in South Asia. Ms. Jahan also provides data and analysis of international student mobility trends and helps U.S. higher education institutions develop recruitment strategies. She oversees 13 centers and 45 advisers in six countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka). EducationUSA advising centers are supported by the U.S. Department of State and are the official source of information for students and scholars who seek access to U.S. higher education. Ms. Jahan is Bangladeshi-American from New Jersey, and has a BA in political science from Rutgers University.

Mrs. Geeta Jayanth is the Principal of Legacy International School and has over 20 years of administrative and teaching experience in national and international education. She has been a workshop leader for Global Perspective and is an IBDP examiner. She is also a Team Member for CIS/NEASC School Accreditation and has visited many international schools in India and overseas for school accreditation. She has over seven years of experience as a guidance counselor and has been invited to top universities in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Japan, Australia and Europe. She was nominated for the Counselor of the Year Award at the IC3 Conference in August 2017. She has been an active member of the IC3 Planning Committee.
Executive Architect, IBM India Software Labs, India
Sreekanth Kakaraparthy is an Executive Architect with IBM India Software Labs. Sreekanth has over 21 years of IT experience, and has worked with IBM for nearly 13 years, passionately climbing the ranks with his dedication and commitment to his work. His experience spans across design, development, implementation of technology solutions across various businesses and technical units in the areas of supply chain, insurance, banking, healthcare, content management and education. Sreekanth has nine patents to his name in the areas of applying AI technologies to the education industry. He is a well respected and passionate mentor. He has mentored several of technical communities worldwide, as well as being a super mentor for NitiAayog’s Atal Innovation mission. An accomplished public speaker, having spoken at various technical conferences and workshops internationally. As other interests, Sreekanth is very actively involved in community events and volunteerism.

Ganesh Kohli is a teacher and counsellor who has founded, nurtured and led multiple education focused organizations over the past 20 years. An engineer by education, Ganesh started his career teaching Mathematics besides helping families find the best fit education globally. His journey has led him to visit over 450 colleges and universities, present workshops at 300+ high schools, help 4000+ students with their higher education decisions and present at numerous global conferences. In 2015, Ganesh stepped back from active involvement in his entrepreneurial ventures to drive initiatives that will have social impact. He supports The Aha Movement and Soul Science Foundation to bring meditation and mindfulness in everyday life. He has also simultaneously envisioned the IC3 Movement to impact 175,000 high schools over the next 15 years. Serving as the Chair of IC3, Ganesh has helped build a platform that is providing much needed focus on career and college counselling within high schools. The IC3 Movement now attracts leaders from 500+ educational institutions to its annual conference, has 30 regional events across Asia and supports free education for school teachers to become trained career and college counsellors.
Recruitment Officer, Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada
With over seven years of professional experience working in higher education, Alisha Koumphol continuously contributes to the development of the university’s international strategy which focuses on student mobility and recruitment of international students. During her career, she has had extensive travelling experience developing international outreach initiatives. Ms. Koumphol’s global experience includes knowledge in Canada, the U.S., the U.K., Northern Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. Ms. Koumphol is passionate about education and dedicated to helping students succeed in finding the best fit for their future educational and career goals.

Vivek Mansukhani is the Head of the Institute of International Education (IIE) in India where he leads a team that manages several scholarship and fellowship programs, builds higher education partnerships and offers IIE’s expertise in international education consulting and research to foundations, governments, corporations and higher education institutions. Vivek previously worked as Director of the Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program in India and as Head of Scholarships and Alumni at the British Council in India. Alongside two decades of experience in the education management sector, he heads a theatre company where he acts, writes and directs. He has also worked as Director Arts, India, at the British Council.

Sheena Mehta’s roots originate from India, but she was born in Manchester, U.K. Having been intrigued by the melodious, song-like intonation of the Spanish language, she followed her interest and went on to read her degree in Business and Spanish. It was her Erasmus year that took her to Madrid and it didn’t take long for her to fall in love with all the country has to offer. Upon completion of her undergraduate studies in Leeds, Ms. Mehta moved to Madrid and began working at IE University in 2009. She spent four years based on the Madrid campus at IE University as Associate Director. She is now Director of IE´s international office in London, leading recruitment for undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the region.

I work as an Adviser with EducationUSA at the United States India Educational Foundation, Chennai office. The past five years I have had the opportunity to be associated with many young and bright minds aspiring to go to U.S. for their higher education. I also reach out to students in our region (Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Pondicherry) through outreach activities like school visits, education fairs and online sessions.

Pragati Pandey, recipient of the 2018 IC3 Counselor of the Year Award, has been with the Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad for almost five years and with Aga Khan Schools for more than 13 years, and has been in counseling and admissions since 1997. She has worked with National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), the Institute of Psychological and Educational Measurement, in three different schools in India and one school in Tanzania. Pragati’s professional philosophy is to help students not only to find the best fit university, but also find passion in whatever profession they follow in life and she has a special passion for placing students from diverse financial and socio-economic backgrounds with a high need for financial aid. She holds a Master’s degree in psychology and a post-graduate diploma in guidance and counseling from NCERT.

Assistant Director of Outreach, Ashoka University, Haryana, India
Parneet Shergill holds a postgraduate in Clothing and Textiles from SNDT University Mumbai and has been a part-time lecturer at various fashion institutes and home science colleges. She has worked with a start-up called Ethicus and has been a part of their production team, as well as headed their marketing division. She has been on the Outreach team with Ashoka University and is based in Mumbai. Her experience of over 15 years in the field of teaching and counselling has taken her across the country, making her understanding of various regions invaluable. She is currently the Assistant Director of Outreach at Ashoka.
College Counselor, Woodstock School, India
Swati Shrestha is a College Counselor at Woodstock School in northern India, where she assists students from all over the world in reaching their goals of accessing higher education. Prior to this, she was an Assistant Dean of Admission at Reed College, in Portland, Oregon, where she managed international recruitment, as well as the reading and evaluation process of all international applications. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Reed College, a Certificate in College Counseling from the University of California, Los Angeles, and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts from Arizona State University. Swati is a member of the Inclusion, Access, and Success Committee for the International Association of College Admission Counselors.
Program Manager - South Asia for the Center for International Education, Northern Arizona University, U.S.
Ragh Singh currently serves as the Program Manager - South Asia for the Center for International Education at Northern Arizona University. Previously, he served as Assistant Director of International Recruitment at the University of Missouri (Mizzou), as well as serving as an academic and career advisor with Mizzou. He also served as an academic advisor and adjunct faculty at State Fair Community College. In 2006, he came to the United States as an international student to pursue his Master’s in communication from the University of Central Missouri.

Zafeena has over 18 years of work experience in the education sector and currently manages all British Council scholarships, Study UK and the GREAT Higher Education campaign. In her prior role at EducationUSA, she worked with the U.S. HEIs and Indian educational institutions to disseminate accurate, current and comprehensive information on US higher education to students. She has participated in the Department of State Level 1 and 2 Training Institute for EducationUSA advisers in 2013 and 2017, OACAC-Tampa in 2014 and EducationUSA Forum in 2016.
High School Counselor, Jakarta Intercultural School, Indonesia
As an undergraduate and dual Master's degree student, Joe Tavares studied at six universities in five countries. It's fitting that today, Joe advises high school students from around the world who seek to do the same thing he did – learn, grow and form life-long friendships within university settings outside of their home country. Joe is currently a high school counselor at Jakarta Intercultural School (JIS), the largest private school in Indonesia. Prior to JIS, he worked as a high school counselor in Egypt and Brazil. Before working in a school setting, Joe published a college guidebook – the first of its kind – for students who would be first in their family to go to college. Supporting the higher education aspirations of traditionally underserved students is a personal and professional passion of Joe's, and each summer he volunteers with U.S.-based college access organization College Summit to boost the college enrollment of high school students in low-income districts. In July 2017, Joe began a three-year term of service on the Executive Board of International ACAC, and he currently serves as the organization's Chair of Inclusion, Access, and Success.
Director International Admissions, Indiana University, U.S.
John Wilkerson is Director International Admissions at Indiana University. He has previously held the same position at the University of Missouri, and served as Director of Admissions for Columbia College in Missouri. Wilkerson holds degrees in counseling psychology and education and is pursuing doctoral studies in global education policy. He serves in various leadership roles with NAFSA: The Association of International Educators, the International Association of College Admissions Counselors, and the Council of International Schools.
In addition, faculty at all host universities will teach at the IC3 Institute.
